NEWS FROM THE
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR/SECRETARY----Ted
Foster
Well, winter is
upon us in Michigan but still a lot
of tractor stuff going on.
I just got back
from the New Holland dealers
meeting, we were invited to bring
some Ford tractors so I made a few
calls and Jack and Steve Crane
agreed to take 3 of their fine
tractors. It was a great display
and we had the opportunity to visit
with several FFCA members that were
there. Don and Myrna Artman, as
well as, Jack Crane and Lou Rice
worked the table with membership
information available, thanks to all
of them.
I am looking
forward to seeing all of you at
Wauseon OH June 27-30. Since we are
returning to the state where our
club started I am hoping to see a
record number of tractors and
equipment, so let’s really bring out
the Fords and Fordsons. Please feel
free to contact me if you have any
questions about the show or
banquet. Sid DeLagrange is doing a
great job organizing everything for
us.
The next big
event coming this summer will be the
“Half Century of Progress” at
Rantoul, IL August 22-25. FFCA will
have a tent and display at this show
as we have in the past, this is
being coordinated by member John
Bensyl.
Then in the
fall the Illinois/Indiana chapter
will have their annual meet at the
NIHPA show in Valparaiso, IN. Sept.
27-29. This also is a very good
show and I look forward to seeing
many of you there.
Now back to
Wauseon, please make motel
reservations early, camping is
available on the grounds with
electric for a limited number of
campers, might be enough for all of
us. Golf carts are allowed. The
banquet is reasonably priced this
year and I have sampled the food,
don’t think anyone will be
disappointed, please send checks
early to Sidney DeLagrange.
Look forward to
seeing you all in Wauseon!
Half Century of
Progress August 22-23-24-25, 2013
This is a truly
remarkable show held in Rantoul,
Illinois, as we have done in the
past the FFCA will have a tent and a
display of memorabilia along with as
many Ford and Fordson tractors as we
can get you all to bring.
John Bensyl has
agreed to coordinate this show for
us, so please contact John if you
have questions 1-217-840-1728. I
highly recommend bringing a golf
cart if you can because this show is
spread out across 500 acres with
many field exhibits going on in
different areas. I believe one can
rent golf carts on the grounds but I
recommend contacting them early.
Camping is always at a premium and
probably the onsite spots are gone
already.
I look forward
to seeing many of you at this show,
you won’t be disappointed.
